In 1943, the establishment of a branch of Otto Bark Motorenbau founded the production of the first engine parts in Cunewalde. The foundation stone was laid for today based in Cunewalde tradition of mobility suppliers.
At the end of the Second World War, the existing workshops are about to be closed and dismantled. The use of unflinching staff at the Soviet military administration prevented the dismantling and finally led in 1948 to the conversion into VEB Motorenwerk Cunewalde.
In the decades that followed, VEB Motorenwerk Cunewalde became the most important manufacturer of small diesel engines in the former RGW economic area. The engines - manufactured by more than 2,200 employees - were used in addition to vehicle construction, in agriculture and forestry technology, construction industry, transport and shipbuilding.
As a result of the socio-political upheaval and the loss of sales markets, the employees of VEB Motorenwerk Cunewalde also faced an uncertain future. The company is converted into Dieselmotorenwerke Cunewalde GmbH.
MFT GmbH is founded on part of the factory premises of the former VEB Motorenwerk Cunewalde plant. With initially 60 employees, the development of new business areas and the specialization in component production will be promoted in the following years.
The first Eicher narrow-track tractors are assembled and ensure the competitiveness of the company in the 90s.
By Wolfgang Hensel and Günter Zückner - former senior employees of theVEB Motorenwerk plant - the company is successfully privatized and managed. The first 3-year contract with General Motors underlines its focus on the automotive industry. With Herward Glinski the Autent GmbH enters the company.
MFT is growing continuously. In order to lay a solid foundation for economic development with young professionals, MFT offers professional apprenticeship training from 1997 onwards.
According to DIN ISO 9001 and VDA 6.1, since 2001 MFT fulfills the requirements of relevant certification standards with the certification according to IST / TS 16949 since 2001. Numerous industry awards such as GM "Supplier of the Year" underline the reliable and trusting cooperation as a First Tier supplier.

Guido Glinski takes over majority of the MFT Motoren und FahrzeugTechnology GmbH and becomes new managing director.
Implementation of a automated machining and assembly line for ready-to-install crankshaft bearing caps in the commercial vehicle sector. With innovative machining technology for the production of ball-and-socket bars for swiveling trailer coupling systems, MFT is opening up new strategic business fields.

MFT Motoren und FahrzeugTechnology GmbH becomes part of the PCL Group (Precision Camshafts Ltd.) based in Solapur/India. PCL is one of the largest camshaft manufacturers in the world and manufactures a wide variety of injection nozzle components, balancer shafts and e-mobility vehicles in the group companies.
By installing new technology for the production of high-quality gearing for drives in the automotive industry or mechanical engineering, MFT Motren und FahrzeugTechnology GmbH opens up new business areas. MFT takes over the complete production of gear wheel components up to automated assembly and subsequent quality inspection.
Oliver Heldt becomes the new managing director of MFT Motoren und FahrzeugTechnology GmbH.
